Independence starts at home.
When homes are safe and well-maintained, people of all abilities can focus on living meaningful lives without worrying about barriers to their routines.
Years of Impact
For decades, The Anderson Company has played a role in supporting the independence and dignity of our residents. The company has donated over $100,000 in services and equipment rentals to help maintain and improve the six homes.
All Kinds of Projects
Much of The Anderson Company’s work happens behind the scenes. When driveways need paving, landscaping needs attention, or projects require heavy equipment, The Anderson Company gets the job done. Crews arrive, trucks unload, and improvements take shape. Their consistent care has helped keep the homes safe and welcoming for the residents.
The Anderson Company’s commitment to the residents extends beyond home maintenance. The Gabriel Homes Golf Tournament has long benefited from the company’s early and ongoing financial support as a Guardian Angel sponsor, the event’s highest level of giving. Since 1995, the tournament has grown into Gabriel Homes’ largest fundraiser, driven in part by The Anderson Company’s long-standing involvement in its success.
“The residents were always at the heart of the golf tournament for me. At first, I worked day and night to bring in new golfers, sponsors, and volunteers. Now, seeing the same supporters show up year after year for Gabriel Homes feels incredibly rewarding.”

Change With Friends
During his tenure on the board, Mike wanted to give back to residents and their homes by being more hands-on. His vision became the Gabriel Homes Work Crew (GHWC), a group of retirees who handle ongoing home upkeep. Since the early 2010s, the GHWC and The Anderson Company have volunteered their time and resources on projects ranging from small repairs to large-scale improvements across the homes.
When asked about work crew mornings, Mike said, “It’s my favorite day of the month. It’s better than golf.”
One project included fixing a home’s then-swampy backyard. Residents could only enjoy it when sitting on the porch. Working side by side, The Anderson Company and GHWC installed a new drain system. Crews dug ditches and laid pipes, then added gravel to stabilize the ground. Today, the residents use the space for gardening, morning coffee, and parties. One backyard party even featured alpacas!
