Love of Mini Golf
The simple instructions can take years to master. For Joe, the mini golf stance is second nature. He played mini golf at local courses when he was young, and he tries to keep his skills fresh at home when he can.
“I started following the PGA Tour on TV when I was little. The big golf courses the pros play on take a long time, so I like playing mini golf instead.”
The Thrill of Victory
Mini golf taps into Joe’s competitive side. A decorated powerlifter, Joe brings the same grit to the smaller links.
“Joe is a heck of an athlete,” says his father, Rick. “He’s always good for a hole in one. There was one time he was on a hot streak and hit three holes in one in a row.”
When he visits his mom, Patti, and stepdad, Ken, in South Carolina, his family’s favorite course is Inlet Adventures Mini Golf. The 18-hole course has a mix of bridges and obstacles, but Joe says he likes the challenge of golfing on the hills and slopes.
“Because we live in a vacation area, family activities are easy and interesting for all ages,” says Patti. “There’s always something to do, and mini golf is one of our favorite ways to spend time together.”
