This first-ever Block Party will celebrate the abilities and inclusion of all members of our community. It will feature fun activities and interactive stations to learn about community resources. And what’s a block party without food? Working with Kalypso Sports Tavern, Gabriel Homes will provide free lunches for all attendees.

- When: Saturday, April 11, 2026, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Where: Lake Anne Plaza, Reston, Va.
- Cost: Free and open to all who RSVP

Residents wore their game faces to Gabriel Homes Angie (pictured) hosted a game night. Her home welcomed guests with bold red, black, and white decorations that matched a casino theme.
“I love inviting people over for game nights. Everyone loved walking through the red and black tinsel and playing on the casino tablecloth.”
Several residents stepped into the spotlight at Night to Shine, a promenade that celebrates people with disabilities. There were endless activities when they arrived to the prom, from a paparazzi photo shoot to shoe shining, gourmet dinner, dancing, games, and karaoke.

Kari Shines at Her Job at ECHO
Through ECHO’s employment partnerships, Kari (left) works at the Janelia Research Campus, a major biomedical research center in Ashburn. At her job, Kari provides essential support in the research lab.

Gabriel Homes was recently encouraged to apply for Nonprofit of the Year through the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce. When staff reviewed their 2025 accomplishments, the numbers surprised them and revealed the true scale of their daily impact!

Celebrating Friendship on Galentine’s Day
On February 13, many around celebrate Galentine’s Day, a women-centered day centered on uplifting one another. A few residents celebrated the holiday with a trip to The Cheesecake Factory.

Volunteering Brings Out the Best of Us
One volunteer, Sammy (right), spends time with the residents through activities where everyone can take part in the fun. A recent Valentine’s Day party saw everyone painting heart decorations; her return a week later had more arts and crafts, which led to a game night afterward.
