A Gabriel Home resembles most other homes on evenings after work. One might see Whitney cooking while David does his cleanup duties. Gabe exercises to prepare for a sports event, Shelby plays the piano, and Sean and Norman, after mowing the yard, relax on the lawn and entertain Gabriel, the house cat.

Our residents are encouraged to prepare and cook their own meals, and perform such everyday chores as grocery shopping and laundry. Many individuals find full-time employment with local businesses and national retail chains, while others enjoy working at county-supported workshops.

Weekends almost always include sports, especially Special Olympics, pursuing individual hobbies, and taking field trips. Family, friends, neighbors and volunteers visit often. Residents take a group vacation together each year.

Gabriel's People, in other words, lead normal lives — and therein lies their greatness.
